How To Get There: Air Vanuatu flies direct from Sydney and Brisane to Port Vila, with connections from Melbourne with Qantas Airways. Pacific Blue also flies to Port Vila via Brisbane on certain days (please ask for details).

Flight Times: Approximate flight time is 5 hours from Melbourne

Climate: Vanuatu experiences warm and tropical temperatures averaging 25°C between April and November. December to March tends to be warmer with fresh tropical rains, averaging 30°C.

Money: The Vatu is the basic currency of Vanuatu. 1 AUD = 79 VUV (as of October 2006). ATMs are available from Westpac and ANZ branches in Port Vila, but please check with your local bank back in Australia to ensure your credit card is suitable. Major credit cards are accepted in Port Vila. Also, travellers' cheques are accepted in larger stores and hotels.

Visa: Australian passport holders do not require a visa for Vanuatu, however proof of onward travel is required. Passports should also have validity of six months or more when arriving back into Australia.
